Hello! I have been interested in html lately and wanted a place to practice design; as well as that, I would like to display some of my art. Feel free to peruse!

This Site's Design

hello! i am trying to keep this site simple and organized. i worry that my site does not look very nice, but i've heard that it's best to design a site that you, yourself, would be interested in exploring. this is my guideline.

i want this site to be a refreshing break from the busyness and excess stimulus of daily life, and especially short-form content on social media...

but most of all, i am using this site for self-expression

Site Modes + Files

On the splash page, you can see that there are two versions of the site: Normal and Minimal. In the files, I just duplicate each html page file and alter it as needed. I also switch between the "roostedquill.css" and "basic.css" stylesheets.

if i get too impatient and update the site before something is ready, then it might appear in "minimal" mode, first, before it appears in "normal" mode--this is because minimal mode is easier to format.

Explaining Mode Differences

Normal Mode:

• includes color, images, javascript, and the use of MANY divs
• main pages are in uppercase : /PAGESECTION
• for example: "roostedquill.neocities.org" + "/SHRINES" ; "/EXTRA"
• pages follow this format: /pagesection_page
• for example: "roostedquill.neocities.org" + "/shrines_plants" ; "/extra_moonphotos"

Minimal Mode:

some pages/content might not be available in minimal mode--for example, something which is mainly image-based will have to be significantly altered for this mode

• Mostly text with no color or images. Hopefully makes the site easier to navigate for screen-readers or on older/smaller devices
i am not sure if i am doing well or not in the accessibility, but i will try and make efforts to learn as i go! it will just take time, this is a hobby :)
